Super funky nails!

So this post is not so much make-up related but I just had to share this super cool find that I came across whilst make-up shopping today, it is called 'Nail Constellation' by MUA and they caught my eye straight away as I did not have a clue what they were but they just looked so interesting that I had to buy them.
Basically they are tiny little coloured balls and can be bought in various colours but I went for black and blue, and they are so simple to use, it is a very different kind of nail varnish but they just look so effective, you paint your nails as usual with a colour of your choice and whilst the nail polish is still wet you pour these balls onto the nail and wait for them to dry, they look so pretty and effective!
You can put them on every single one of your nails if you desire but I decided to be minimalistic and just put them on a single nail as you can see below!

This item is available to buy from Superdrug for just £3!

or buy them at their online store!

MUA Artiste Palette

So obviously as I do most days I was make-up shopping and as I was in the MUA section of Superdrug which I usually am I came across an offer they had where if you spend £6 worth of make-up you get a free Artiste Palette, the colours in this palette look so strange and unique that I just had to get one, not only because this is a great value for money as the palette alone is £6 but the colours in the palette are just so eyecatching!
In the palette you get 6 different colours of eye shadow which are two different blended colours in each and then you also get two blushers, a bronzer and a highlighter so really it has most things that you would need to see use in your everyday make-up routine.

This palette can also be bought online or the offer still stands at the moment if you want it for free just spend £6 on other products!

I am going to put my top 5 favourite videos on here but please go look and decide for yourself which one your favourite is also!

Kate Moss Crazy

SO basically, I am addicted to Kate Moss lipstick and I don't care who knows it! It is one of the best lipsticks I have bought in a long time, it stays on for absolutely ages.
I went make-up shopping yesterday and instead of coming out of the shop with make-up that I actually need I ended up buying lots of her lipstick, it was on a 3 for 2 offer and I just couldn't resist.
This make-up comes to £5.49 each, and although I could be spending my well earned money on something other than lipstick I personally think this is a reasonable price for this lipstick, the quality is better than any top of the range make-up i've bought.
I wore one out last night and never once had to go to the toilet to top up on my lipstick, it stayed perfect for the whole night and I have never been able to say that about a lipstick before.
This lipstick is totally worth buying.
The four numbers of the colours (they don't have names) that I bought were :

107 (Dark Red)
110 (Coral)
04 (Purple)
20 (Pink)

These products can be also found online at both Boots and Superdrug's websites which are listed below:

How I do my eyebrows

For a very very VERY long time now, many people have asked me how I do my eyebrows, What is my trick to making them even? What products do I use on them? Do I get them waxed? Do I tweeze them? Do I even have any eyebrows? Are they tattooed? ...the questions about my eyebrows could go on forever, but I decided that I would finally show everybody how I do my eyebrows so it clears up any 'secrets' or 'tips' that I may have about them!

But lets get one thing straight first...
No they are not tattooed
Yes I do have eyebrows
Yes I get them waxed sometimes
Yes I tweeze them probably once every week
The product I use on my eyebrow is any old eyebrow pencil, normally I would use either a Rimmel eyebrow pencil or a No7, it honestly just depends on how I am feeling on that particular day.
There is no real trick or tips to how I do my eyebrows, I have tried many different ways and many different shapes and how I have my eyebrows now is just the way I feel comfortable with having them!

So I thought the best way of going through how I do my eyebrows is a step-to-step photo guide so you can keep looking through them and perfect your own eyebrows in which ever way you like to do them!

The eyebrow pencil I am using in this tutorial is a Rimmel one and the colour is 004 Black/Brown these come in at around £3.50 and can be bought at most beauty stores, just pick the colours that is right for you!

Step 1 : Draw two lines opposite each other on the inner side of the eyebrow, trying to make them as parallel as possible, keep the lines just outside of the peak of the nose.
Step 2: Draw a line following the shape of your eyebrow, if you do not have any eyebrows and like to go freestyle, make sure that the two lines are symmetrical to one another, gradually take the line to the end of the brow and give the end a sharp finish
Step 3: Draw another line underneath the brow parallel to the line that you just drew at the top of the brow, carry on across the brow until you meet at the end of the brow making sure it thins out as you go along so that the end of the brow is not too thick

Step 4: Colours the inside of the brow to make you eyebrow hair the same colour as the outline that you have just created, the harder you press with your pencil the darker your newly drawn brow will be! Go over any bits that you think are uneven, and another little tip to make you brow look smoother, get an eyebrow brush or a small eyeshadow brush and blend over your finished brow with a dark brown eyeshadow to give it a blended look.

Quick easy way to draw eyebrows with no fuss!

MUA Professional Eye Primer REVIEW

I have been going slightly MUA crazy recently but considering how cheap this brand up make-up is it is just so tempting that I have to buy every single item of it, I can honestly say it is one of the best brands of make-up that I have used in a very long time and couldn't resist but spend more money on it today.
I have used many different types of primer over the past few years and in all honesty have spent more money than I should have done on it but for £2.50 I just had to see if this compared to any other brands of primer that I have used such as MAC and Benefit.
Eye primer is used just under the brow to give light to the eye when applying make up, to make the eyeshadow look clearer and sharper and give an easier application and sometimes is used on its own to just brighten the eye on those tired days.
I am glad I gave this primer a try, although I found it quite runny for a primer it worked really well, you only need to use a tiny bit and  it works wonder on the eye, for me, who is someone that wears eyeshadow nearly everyday it is a god send! It makes such a different when applying my eye make up but also to how I look, I look and even feel more awake, this item of make-up is definitely one to buy for those early monday mornings!

This product can be bought at any Superdrug store or online at

Lipstick with Liner

As you probably are well aware, I love lipstick, any kind, any colour, but one thing I am still learning is to get the perfect application of lipstick, I have quite naturally big lips and I believe that lipstick is the one true way to really highlight your face and make it stand out, I am a huge believer in the brighter and bolder the lipstick the better.
So whilst having a conversation the other day my good friend Kate told me that her secret to perfect looking lips is lip liner, for some reason lip liner has never really come to mind for me, I have always found it too fussy and actually quite difficult to apply if you are a first time, so I personally have never really used it, but I thought it was time to listen to some advice and give it a go.

This is literally my first go at using lip liner so they may not look perfect but hey! practice makes perfect!

As usual I am using highly affordable make-up including Collection 2000 lip liners which come in at a great £1.99 each! and of course my favourite Kate Moss Lipstick which I have previously reviewed on my blog which come in at £5.

MAC Christmas Make-up Palette Review

So seeing as though it is coming up to Christmas, I thought I would write about a few items of make-up that I usually use around the festive period and came across the Snowglobe MAC make-up palette which I got as a present last christmas.
I love this palette but some of the colours in the palette I would literally only use around Christmas time due to it being a festive type of palette.
I think the only way to show you how I would use these colours is through photos as you can't capture the image of the colours by me just telling you about them!

Even though this palette came out last Christmas I do think you can buy these colours on their own from most MAC stores, the colours in this palette are:

Lightfully
Trax
Fun!
Festive Delight
Black Tied
Shadowy Lady

The first look I do from the palette is done by using the colours Lightfully and Festive Delight, I cover my eyelid all the way up to the brow with Lightfully brightening the whole of my lid and then add Festive Delight into the corners of my eye to give a light smokey eye affect and finish off my adding liquid eyeliner and mascara.
The second look is by using Fun! and Shadowy Lady, it is quite similar to the first but with different colours, covering the eyelid again with Fun! all the way up to the brow and then adding Shadowy Lady to the corner of the eye to get the smoky eye effect and sometimes I also add Trax to the inner corner of my eye for a bit of highlight.

Last but not least this is the most popular look I do from the palette it works well for either evening or everyday, its also very similar to the first look, cover the eyelid with Lightfully and just add Black Tied to the outer corner of the eye, and smudge as you go further to the nose to get a gradual black smokey eye effect. Just add mascara.

The best foundation?

So I basically have gone through a lot of foundations in my time, I have used a wide range of foundations from high end make- up brands, to the very basic products. The big question is though, which one comes out on top?

Starting off with high-end, well, high-end for a student, I thought i'd try Mac, i'd heard great things about their foundation so I thought I would try it out for myself. I wasn't overly impressed. It felt thick on my face, it did not look even, the colourings of the foundation were either way too light or too dark for my actual skin tone, and I thought for the money I had spent on the foundation which was £17 I would expect a lot better.

On the other hand, a trusty foundation that I have been using for a few months now is Rimmel's Lasting Finish 25 hour foundation, and it really does last that long, it looks even on my face, it is very light and easy to apply and it is priced at a very £6.99 which for me for a good foundation like that one is very affordable and lasts for quite a while!

This foundation can be found at:

Sleek Lipstick

For some reason this week all I have been buying are different types of lipsticks, I don't know why but i am just drawn to them.
I picked up another yesterday also from Superdrug and this is a new brand that they have recently decided to stock called Sleek, it isn't a well known brand but I think the make-up is very good quality!
This lipstick caught my attention by being such a bright purple colour, I like being different with my lip colours and like to try and make them stand out so this lipstick for me was a no brainer.
It costs £4.99 which I think is a bargain and it does stay on for a long time, maybe not as long as the Kate Moss lipsticks but it is still very good.

You can have a look at the other Sleek products over at their website:

http://www.sleekmakeup.com/

The colour lipstick that I bought was:

783-  Mystic

Barry M Dazzle Dusts.

So for quite a long time now, I have been collecting the Barry M Dazzle Dusts, I've recently just started using them again after a long time of forgetting about them and they are still as good as when I first bought them. Although a bit on the messy side, this strong pigment colours are fantastic for when dressing up, I personally wouldn't wear them for everyday use but hey! it's whatever you want to do.

These pots of colour come in at £4.59 each which I think for how long they last is very affordable, and can be bought at most major cosmetic shops such as Boots or Superdrug.

You can also order them from their website:
www.barrym.com

You can mix and match these colours to get any different effect that you desire, you only need a tiny bit so they really do last forever! I started buying mine around 3 years ago and never had to replace a colour!

I keep them in a craft storage box in which I bought from WH Smith, very easy to store!

The colours that I have in the photo below are;

Pack of 5 from www.asos.com (Photo 1)
Dark Navy with gold
Apple Green
Violet
Fuscia
Baby Pink

Individual Colours
Silver
Black
Green/Navy
Gold
Beige
Baby Pink
Baby Blue/Gold
Royal Blue

Make-Up Galore

So as you can see from the photo below this post I like make-up a lot, this is just part of my collection of make-up that I own, some say I may be addicted to buying Make-up, but I just see it as a hobby of collecting affordable products and mixing them to creating good looks, there's nothing wrong with that!
So in this bundle of make-up that sits on my desk looking like a bombs dropped are products including Rimmel, Revlon, Mac, Maybelline, Natural Collection, MUA, NYC, No 7, Barry M, Topshop, 17, and various others. I dont tend to buy high market make-up because in my eyes, I use it way too often and always need to buy replacements so for me it would just be way too much money.
Most women like buying make-up so the way I see it is why don't you do it without breaking the bank?
In this blog you will see plenty of these products pop up in my tutorials and I will show you the best way to use them, hope you enjoy!
